Druid Guide
The Druid Class is a "Hybrid" Class, meaning they can take on one of several roles.
A Druid can be a DPS, Tank or Healer. As DPS they have the option of choosing Magic or Melee.
Druids can shapeshift into several forms including.
- Aquatic Form - This form is used to travel very fast through water, there is no other use for this.
- Travel/Cheetah - This form is used as the druids land travel form, you receive this form at level 30.
- Cat Form- This is the Melee DPS form where you act very similar to a rogue.

- Bear/Dire Bear - This is the Druids Tank Form where they get increased Armor and Stamina, this lowers their DPS but makes them hard to kill.
- Flight Form - Take shape as a Crow. Druids don't get normal mounts, they shapeshift into Crows.
- Monkey Form- just kidding.
As a druid you are restricted in several ways. First, being a hybrid you will be restricted to perform in the role you choose. Lets say you choose to be a healer, this means you will pretty much have to go down the Restoration Tree and you won't be able to kill very quickly, but then again you also won't die very quickly.
Druids are restricted to Night Elf as Alliance and Tauren as Horde. Night Elves get "ShadowMeld" where, when you're not in combat you can go into "stealth/invisible" mode but can not move, and Tauren get "War Stomp" which stuns up to 5 enemies up to 8 yars away (very useful in PVP).
Like all characters theres 3 talent trees.
- Balance (Magic DPS - AKA Boomkin/Moonkin)
- Feral (Melee DPS/Tank)
- Resoration (Healing)
As mentioned, whatever you choose you pretty much need to go all the way into the tree to really get the full effect of which roll you want to play.
I highly recommend against Restoration until you are higher level because it will take you forever to level (unless of course you are playing with friends and always are in a group you could be very useful as a healer).
One of the most frustrating things about the game being a healer is, if you want to be a healer you can pretty much say goodbye to leveling fast by yourself, you'll have to spec another way.
I highly recommend Feral for leveling (and PVP) to start off with. Once you get cat form at level 20 you will really see an incredible increase in leveling speed (if you noticed it's slow starting for druids because you only get bear form at 10 and they don't do much DPS at that point).
